Rib Mountain State Park
This billion-year-old
hill is one of the oldest geologic formations on earth. The top of
the 60-foot observation tower is 700 feet above the surrounding
plain and offers spectacular views. The CD-Rom offers a review of the park's campground, with eight photos of recommended campsites, many with excellent views of the Wausau Valley. There is a printable map of the park, with photos of the ski hills, the gazebo, observation tower views, unique rock formations such as the "Queen's Chair" and "Ancient Ripples" in rocks, and the highest point on Rib Mountain, and information about the park's hiking trails, geology, observation tower, skiing at the Granite Peak downhill ski area, picnic areas, and other nearby attractions.
