Governor Nelson State Park
Located on 10,000-acre Lake Mendota within sight of the state Capitol, the park offers boating, fishing,
picnicking and swimming opportunities. Trails and restored
prairie and savanna beckon nature enthusiasts, with Effigy mounds along the Woodland Trail. The CD-Rom offers a review of the park, its facilities, hiking trails, and fishing, swimming, and boating on Lake Mendota. There is a printable map of teh park, with photos of the Woodland Nature Trail and its Panther Mound, popular Indainola beach, and boat launch area.
