Mirror Lake State Park
The sandstone gorge that surrounds Mirror Lake is the result of meltwater chiseling through the landscape 10,000 years ago when an ice block released Glacial Lake Wisconsin. Etched ripples mark the stone that is so beautifully reflected in the waters of 137-acre Mirror Lake. Today visitors enjoy a variety of recreations and use the park as a respite from surrounding Wisconsin Dell attractions. The CD-Rom offers a review of the family campgrounds at Mirror Lake, with photos of six of the recommended campsites, including the handicapped-accessible cabin. Included are maps of the park and campgrounds, with photos of the sand beach, volleyball court, boat launch, fishing pier, North Loop and Echo Rock Hiking Trails. There is useful infomration about the park's hiking trails, swimming, boating and fishing, area wildlife, the Cabin in the Woods accessible cabin, the rentable Seth Peterson Cottage designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and other local Wisconsin Dells attractions.
