Chequamegon National Forest - Smith Rapids Campground

Horses graze at Site 10 at Smith Rapids Campground

The Smith Rapids Campground is located on the South Fork of the Flambeau River and is specifically tailored to accomodate horseback riders with direct access to the River Saddle Equestrian Trail. Primarily a horse camp, nine sites have extra long parking spurs for a horse trailer. All the sites have hitching rails and the campground has easy access to the Flambeau Trail System. The CD-Rom offers a review of the campground, with descriptions of the campsites and photos of 4 recommended sites, photos of the canoe launch and covered bridge, a printable map with descriptions of campsite sizes and driveways for RV/Trailer owners, directions, and information about nearby attractions.
