Chequamegon National Forest - Mineral Lake Campground

View of Mineral Lake behind Campsite 6

Though not as popular as nearby Day Lake and East Twin Lake Campgrounds, this campground tucked away in a maple forest near 225-acre Mineral lake has much to offer. This is one of those rare campgrounds that you may have to yourself even on a summer weekend. The campground is a single loop on the south shore of Mineral Lake among a stand of young, mixed hardwoods. Most of the trees are maple, providing an attractive campground in the Fall. A few sites overlook the Lake. Eagle watching is a favorite pastime. A boat landing is located 1 mile north on FR 187, where you can angle for musky, walleye, smallmouth bass, and panfish. The CD-Rom contains a review of the campground, with photos of 3 recommended campsites, a printable map and information about campsite sizes and driveways for RV/Trailer owners, and information about nearby attractions.
