Buckhorn State Park

Buckhorn is a 2,500-acre peninsula in the Castle Rock Flowage of the Wisconsin River and offers a full range of water-related activities. The CD-Rom offers an extensive review of the park's cart-in and drive-in campsites, with 17 photos of recommended sites. Many of the campsites are right on Castle Rock Lake and you can moor your boat offshore. Some of the sites are mile-long walk-ins with carts, so it is sometimes easier to boat your camping gear to your site. Campers who like privacy and isolation more akin to wilderness camping will love this park. Included are photos of the beach, boat landing, fishing pier, and Partridge Trail. There is information about the park's great fishing opportunities, boating and canoeing, hiking trails, swimming, recreational activities, prairie and savannah restorations, and park wildlife. Also included are printable maps of the Park and the Canoe Trail.

Sandblow View - Buckhorn is part of the Central Sandy Plain of Wisconsin,
sometimes called "Wisconsin's Desert".
